I still have a list of stubborn, seemingly mercurial and unpredictable symptoms I manage (or don't) every day.

Seattle: 2 Weeks In
It's been just over two weeks for me here in Seattle and while my apartment is complete and done, I'm still settling in. I am forgetting things. For example: a routine for leaving my apartment isn't set in muscle memory so I do the "Oh I forgot my [x]" dance, sometimes even twice before actually … Continue reading Seattle: 2 Weeks In
I’m Moving to Seattle
On March 31st, my 17 years in New York will come to an end. I am moving to Seattle. "It rains there!!!" is what I hear the most. My response is usually, "New York is freezing and dirty, so..." I have been exploring cities for the last couple years because I knew that New York and … Continue reading I’m Moving to Seattle
Endorphin Enthusiasm
Since going off of my Hyperthyroid medication last week, I have been ready, waiting for something to change. Believe this when I tell you - I was waiting for those numbers … Continue reading Schizothyroidism

Acupuncture and Then Some
Today, I had my first acupuncture appointment. Well, not truly my first, as I've done it many times. But, my first appointment with a purpose. The previous visits were just because I wanted to give it a whirl for this or that, but wasn't serious about maintaining it as a part of my wellness. This … Continue reading Acupuncture and Then Some
Everyday I’m Hustlin’
Last night I went to a holiday party at the yoga studio where I teach, Lyons Den Power Yoga. [picture below] Well, I currently do not teach there, because the heat and intensity of the practice isn't good for me or my thyroid at this time. Looking back on this year, I remember (many) moments … Continue reading Everyday I’m Hustlin’
When I Discovered My Hyperthyroidism
I was recently diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, caused by Graves' Disease, an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid and makes it go bananas. My thyroid has been in hyperdrive for at least eight months.
